Willows Alumni Association General Board Meeting August 14, 2004
ATTENTION:
Board: Jack Adams, Patsy Hoskey, Donna Davis, Lisa Teeter and Vi
Lederer. Director: Betty Fulllwood, Reita Mudd, Dorothy Ann Nerli and
Margaret Sykes Loyal Attendees: Laura Blevins, Dorothy Beesley,
George Litty, Robert E.Adams And Ellen Pastorino
OLD BUSINESS:
- High School Entrance: Area material costs will be available
at October meeting. Availability of H.S. grants to be investigated
1950’s Reunion: The
- 1950's Reunion: October 2nd meeting will begin at an earlier
time, 9:00 A.M. The 1950-1959 reunion planning meeting will start at
11:00 A.M. Debbie Storz is now a stay at home mom and will be missed.
Marge Ansel is to be contacted to put Alumni Minutes on the H.S.
website. Consensual e-mail addresses are available from Margaret
Albiston. Vi will put in a newspaper article about $100 donation from
1940’s class. Cafeteria.
- Moveable Stairs: Lisa will coordinate project with Roger
Steinhoff. Do not disturb the wrestling mats without contacting Mr.
Zuckerman.
- Football/Baseball Sign: Nancy Hutson was contacted about a
sign. Lisa stated that the initial cost to make is $400. B.J. Boyd will
make the sing. Yearly cost is $100 due in the spring. Lisa made the
motion to “go ahead” with the project and Patsy seconded. Carried.
NEW BUSINESS:
- H.S.Band: Ellen displayed one of the new W I L L O W S
letters for band and also presented W.A.A w/an appreciation certificate
from Virtual Enterprise H.S.and band enrollment is 80 plus members.
Lottery monies will provide 23 new uniforms and band chairs. Uniforms
take 120 days to produce and cost of each uniform is $350 plus S&K.
Unlikely they will be available for Homecoming this October. Band
scheduling always challenging 2004-2005 schedules is: Oroville Band
Review Day October; Cal Band Day- November. Transportation cost for the
trip is $2000 plus. The H.S. and Alumni band concert – April,2005;Lamb
Derby –May, 2005; Glen Country Fair Parade is questionable in May; and
if Disneyland likes the video that is to be sent, they will travel to
Disneyland a week after school is out June, 2005.
- W.I.S. Band: Band enrollment is 60 students. Twenty more band
chairs are needed. The band, Choir and drama departments will present
their concert in December, 2004. The Open House concert is to be
announced.
REPORTS:
2004 Scholarship Recipients: Laura Gupton is attending Sacramento
State’s R.O.T.C. program. Chris Cooper is attending Butte College on a
baseball scholarship and is studying astronomy.
The next meeting will be October 2, 2004 at 9:00 A.M. Other meeting dates
are: November 13, 2004 and January 8, 2005.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
